Bellagio is about 20 km from Villa Galli, a little over half an hour by car across the Triangolo Lariano. Sleeping in the village is charming but complicated: from April to October the old town is a restricted traffic zone and the few car parks fill up early, so much that local guides suggest leaving the car elsewhere. Here your parking space is reserved and you drive to Bellagio whenever you like.

Why stay here instead of in the village
No parking hunt, no restricted zone. In Bellagio the centre is a restricted traffic zone for most of the year, lakefront parking is charged by the hour and spaces are almost always taken in high season. Here parking is private, enclosed and always available.
A historic villa with its own park. Instead of a room overlooking a narrow village lane, an early twentieth-century residence surrounded by greenery, with generous spaces and the quiet of the hills.
The pool when you get back. After the climb up to Bellagio, the ferry or the trails of the Triangolo Lariano, you find the heated pool with jacuzzi and the shaded park. In the village, at best, you find a queue at the bar.
And if you want Milan, there is the train. Just over an hour direct from Caslino d'Erba to Milano Cadorna, one train every hour, right in the centre and on metro lines M1 and M2. Your car stays safe here, as if you were taking the underground.
Getting to Bellagio
- By car: about 35 minutes (20 km) along the Triangolo Lariano road, arriving from the Civenna side.
- By ferry: leaving the car in Como or Varenna and crossing the lake, the most beautiful way to arrive.
Tip: go early in the morning or late afternoon, when the village is less crowded and the light on the lake is at its best.
